The meeting of the waters of the Río Magdalena and the Caribbean Sea can be seen at Bocas de Ceniza, the main mouth of the most important waterway in Colombia. At this site, an engineering structure was built with breakwaters that narrow the river’s mouth so that the force and speed of the current move the sediments and allow navigation.
